It’s been a few weeks now since I implemented and shared the new organizational tools I developed to keep me focused during the day. If you’ve been following along, right about now you might be wondering, “How’s that working out for you?”

I am so glad you asked!

So far I have loosely stuck to my schedule. Some tasks have been completed on a different day, and some meals have been moved when things came up, but overall I am accomplishing infinitely more than I ever did previously. And as a result, the house has never been far from being company-ready on short notice.

Daily and Weekly Task Tools

Here are a few things I’ve been learning:

  • If I don’t write down a task, it isn’t likely to get done. Hence, writing down my meal plan and shopping list for the week are essential!
  • I can clean the bathrooms piece by piece when I happen to be in there getting ready and it goes pretty quickly.
  • When I make an effort to keep an organized, smoothly running home, my husband notices and wants to help. Hooray!
  • Grace and flexibility are essential. If I miss a task I don’t have to get down on myself or throw in the towel. I just need to realistically assess whether or not I should try to catch up or if it can wait until the next time it pops up on my list.

I would love to hear how things have been going for you if you’ve been using the tools. Or, share your own methods so we can learn from one another.
